I'm just curious here, but if the boards all got an upgrade to eight thousand characters, why didn't the pms? I would think that might be nice, I don't care really just asking.
I noticed that too, and wondered about it. As you said, It's not really a big deal, but for consistency purposes, I would think pms would have the same limit.

Just trying to get something clear in my own head here...are private messages differently defined than quicknotes? I remember there being a bruhaha a few weeks back when quicknotes were limited to 500 chars.
That makes sense. We can make that change, I'm sure.
Yes, KL1964, there is a difference. Private messages are sort of like e-mail. You should see the line on the opening page that says "you have no new private messages" or "you have 1 new private message," Etc. Click on that link to read any messages you may have. There is a link to send any user a private message, or PM, from their profile, or when checking your own PM's, there is a link to "send a message" to someone else. The current character limit for PM's is 4000, but since board posts can now be 8000, it makes sense for PM's to have 8000 also.
This has now been done. Private messages can now be up to 8,000 characters.
